Freedive and Scuba Spearfishing Adventures in St Croix US Virgin Islands

We offer specialized private spearfishing trips, both freedive and scuba. Equipment available includes spearguns, dive knives, weight belts, gloves, masks, snorkels, long fins (limited sizes), fish stringers, zookeepers and lionfish pole spears. Questions or special requests? Just ask.

Freediving / Skindiving Spearos

Freedivers will dive the best hunting spots for their experience and depth. St. Croix offers incredible freediving, from 15-foot reefs to wrecks as deep as 100+ feet. Spearfishers are briefed on all legal species and methods of take, and on the food value of fish they may encounter. We strongly discourage taking some reef species, both to protect reef health and to avoid fish that may carry ciguatera. Ask your guide for more information. Bluewater trips hunting wahoo, tuna and mahi are only available at certain times of year, so contact us for details.

Scuba Spearos

An experienced spearfisher and Divemaster will lead the dive, point out fish and assist divers when needed. Spearfishing on scuba is for experienced divers only. New to the sport? We offer an introduction to spearfishing after you've shown your scuba skills on a dive without spearguns first. We cover the logic of spearing on scuba, safety, finding fish, lining up the shot, dispatching the fish and quick reloading.
