The Basics
All dives are guided in the water by a certified Divemaster. Before your trip, we'll talk with you about your experience and what you'd like to see, then choose sites that fit your skill level and goals: wrecks, reefs, walls, boulder fields and more.
Our boat, Hunter's Horizon, travels by trailer, so we can launch from different points around the island depending on the weather. We'll confirm your pickup point and start time when you book.
Spearfishing
Spearfishing on scuba is a challenging and rewarding addition to your dive skills. Because of the added risks, our advanced spearfishing trips are for experienced divers with spearfishing experience. New to diving or spearfishing? Let us know you're interested, and we'll bring gear and help you learn. Beginners usually start with lionfish, lobster and smaller reef fish, then move up to spearguns and bigger fish as their skills improve. For the most experienced divers, Captain Shane leads trips to special spots, including these shipwrecks he has been uncovering since 2021.
What to Bring
- Every guest (or guardian) must sign a waiver before departure. We'll send the link after you book, and you can tell us your gear sizes there.
- Your certification card and dive log.
- Water and snacks are provided. You're welcome to bring more, and we have plenty of cooler space.
- Reef-safe sunscreen only. No spray sunscreen. It stains the boat.
- Your own dive gear, cameras or drones are welcome. We have room to store them.
Alcohol
BYOB for the ride home only, no glass. Guests who have been drinking will not be allowed to continue diving.
Deposits and Cancellations
No dates are reserved without a deposit. The remaining balance is paid after your charter.
Deposits are non-refundable unless Somewhere Salty cancels for weather or other unforeseen circumstances. With advance notice, we're happy to help you reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are charged the full trip rate.
